To solve the following digitization challenges, DT is launching a new DT Light Shaper – The DT Honeycomb.
CHALLENGES:
Ergonomic: Reduce/Eliminate the dazzling effect, causing eye strain that is unergonomic and makes it hard to work for long sessions.
Proofing: Reduce/Eliminate the effect causing operators needing to adjust to the brighter light source which makes comparing the object to a monitor fraught.
Image quality: Only the scanned object needs to receive light. All other light could potentially degrade IQ. Light that enters the lens indirectly can cause flare and light reflecting in the environment can cause issues with reflections.
The DT Honeycomb Grid USP’s:
- Easily mounts via accessory slot, eliminating any chance of coming loose or falling.
- Dramatically reduces/eliminates the dazzling effect
- Dramatically reduces flare potential and eliminates scattered light.
- Can replace or be used together with the current hoods.
- No change in light quality
- Does not change the overall texture of light quality or shadow shape
- Decreases camera flare and ceiling/wall bounce
- Reduces the light’s footprint. Users have reported the hoods can be a hazard for their head when working in a dark environment. The grid does not extend beyond the light so is less prone to that issue.

- Not compatible with DT Gemini or DT Photon XL.
