Making Preservation-Grade Digitization More Accessible for Institutions
Today Digital Transitions is introducing the DT iXH 100mp, the newest engine for DT’s digitization solutions, which lowers the barrier to entry for institutions doing preservation-grade digitization. It has all the same features and capabilities as the iXH 150mp, but with a smaller sensor, and a moderately lower resolution and price.
The DT iXH 100mp Camera System delivers incredible image quality – A powerful preservation-grade digitization camera system built for perfectly supporting high volume cultural heritage digitization programs. The sensor’s dynamic range of 15 f-stops boosts light sensitivity with minimal noise, capturing the smallest details and unmatched color fidelity
The purpose-built iXH system, based on the iXH150mp has quickly become the most popular preservation-grade digitization camera system in the world. Unlike general-purpose cameras it is designed for high-volume and high-precision digitization. For example, it natively uses A/C power (no battery required), its focus does not drift when pointed down, and it transfers its 16-bit 15-stop 150mp raw files faster than cameras with half that resolution.
Made by Phase One, the iXH 100MP provides the same quality, reliability, and industrial grade performance of the iXH 150MP but is made for reproduction of smaller subjects— from A2 to A8 @300ppi. This provides a better alternative to generic, less dependable cameras not purpose-built for heritage applications.
The iXH 100mp is fully integrated with DT Nexus and Capture One software, enabling AutoPPI functionality wi th the DT AutoColumn. Every function available from the computer; never needing to access the camera controls. Remote focusing and autofocus is hyper precise, and can zoom to 100% and enlarge the window to any area and scroll around fluidly.
Customers can rest assured with DT’s warranty which includes a loaner during any repair or service.
The iXH 100mp supports several high quality lenses that meet the high demands of high volume flat copy digitization work. These lenses are built specifically as flat-field heritage digitization with focal lengths ideal for copy-stand work, larger lens mounts for higher precision, and double lens lock precluding a falling lens. The Phase One 72 mm MkII lens is designed from the ground up to deliver top of the line performance and optimization. Its floating element increases precision at all apertures and magnification ranges. Also available is the Schneider Kreuznach 120 mm lens. The 21 mm and 42 mm extension tube accessories, used with the 120 mm lens, are designed with the same accuracy and quality as the camera body and lenses, allowing close-ups at a higher resolution, resulting in accurate capture of small objects and is optimized for film digitization, maintaining a flat field of view and excellent sharpness across the frame. These lenses and extension tubes can be shared across any iXG or iXH camera model, so an institution can build capability across time, budget, and resolution requirements.
Its fully-integrated L Dovetail allows use in either left-right or fore-aft orientation, without removing the camera from the stand, and its Arca Swiss Dovetail for rock solid mount to any DT station or to a camera stand or tripod.
USB-C and Ethernet* ports allow for ultra fast image transfer, including a superior raw compression patent for smaller raw files while maintaining preservation-grade image quality.
For improved coverage compatibility across our DT stand product line, we provide two accessories specifically designed for the DT iXH100:
DT Elevate:
The iXH 100mp has a moderately narrower field of view than the iXH 150mp, so will need to be slightly further from the subject to fit it within the frame. The DT Elevate raises the carriage 124mm upward from where it otherwise would be, and is fully compatible with Auto PPI functionality. This accessory is highly recommended for the DT Versa, DT Element and DT Titan, but not required for the DT Atom or DT BC100.
DT Reach:The DT Reach extends the camera arm by 180mm, and is only needed for use with the DT V-Cradle when using the iXH100mp.
