Duke University Libraries established a relationship with Digital Transitions in 2009 when we were in the market to upgrade our old capture system. We purchased our first Phase One system and found it, and the support we received from Digital Transitions, to be top of the line.

The system is versatile, modular and FADGI 4-star compliant, and Digital Transitions provides an upgrade path for the digital back so we can keep up with technological advances without having to replace the entire system.

Our relationship has continued through the years and was a major factor in our decision to purchase our Multispectral Imaging System through a partnership forged between Digital Transitions, Phase One and R.B. Toth Associates, a leading Multispectral Imaging company. One of the first items we captured using the Multispectral Imaging System was a 7th – 8th century Hebrew manuscript fragment that was not readable due to water and smoke damage. After capture and complex processing, this manuscript went from nearly unreadable to almost entirely readable. We have been very happy with the system and the support from all involved.
