DT Photon Mk II
Precision Lighting for Cultural Heritage Digitization
The DT Photon Mk II is the latest entry in the acclaimed DT Photon lighting system for color-critical applications in cultural heritage, commercial photography, and fine art applications. The new Mk II version provides identical performance to the original Photon in a smaller, lighter package. Additionally, a spring-loaded side door allows access to the lighting modifier panel, allowing for quick and easy changes between the fresnel and plexi panels for reflective and transmissive modes, respectively.
As before, the Photon Mk II provides preservation-grade, spectrally smooth color reproduction, as well as conservation-friendly UV-filtration for material safety. High quality LED panels and a low, stable operating temperature ensure that these industrial-grade lights last for thousands of hours of continuous usage.
The 19″ DT Photon Mk II can be used for standard photographic lighting or with any copy stand. The DT Atom is specialized designed to hold two 19″ DT Photon Mk II units, without the need for floor stands or ceiling mounts.
The DT Photon Mk II can also be placed under an object such as photographic film or a watermarked manuscript in order to provide transillumination. It fits in the interior cavity of the DT Atom or placed on the tabletop of any copy stand and used as the object-bearing surface; the top surface runs at 92 degrees Fahrenheit (33C), just under the temperature of a human hand
